Cookie Monster Cupcakes (first attempt)

I made these the other night after stumbling across a picture of them online. I had never done any sort of cupcake/cake work.

What I used:
Ready to make chocolate cake (store bought)
Vanilla Icing
Blue coloring gel
White fondant for the eyes
Chocolate chip cookies for the mouth
Black coloring gel for center of eyes

I filled the baking cups 1/3 full with chocolate cupcake mix. Once they were done baking and cooled off I used some blue Wilton dye to mix with the vanilla icing. Using a star tip I made Cookie Monster's hair. Then I made some marshmallow fondant and cut out circles for the eyes. I placed a little piping gel in center of eye. Lastly I placed half of a chocolate chip cookie for the mouth.

I think if I try making these again I will use white chocolate candy melts and miniature chocolate chips for the eyes. Overall I am tickled with how they turned out being my first time! I hope you enjoy.
